Verify Awake Requirement for Overnight Shift
Waiver program (Medicaid) has a requirement that all covered schedules/ hours are to be "Awake" hours. i.e. the care giver needs to be awake during the shift hours. This requirement becomes very important when it comes to overnight shifts. I have not been able to find out what constitutes as fulfilling the "Awake" requirement but this is an area that needs to be explored further. As of now, I have the same task lists set up for overnight shifts which the care givers are supposed to do. Can you assign someone to look into this. I can team up with them if need be. I have read up online where some companies are offering frequent "check-in" requirement for overnight staff, just to ensure that they are at clients home, GPS verified and awake by "checking-in" every 2 or 3 hours.
